DuraBlue Mattte Blue-Black
I purchased the aerosol kit. After following the directions and applying the Dura Blue the 1978 Marlin 336 looked better than when it was factory new. I let the rifle cure for 2 weeks before taking it to the range. The coating rubbed off at the loading gate while loading the 30-30 rounds. I assume I had polished the receiver too well (600 grit). I was told by a bluing expert that I called and priced stripping and rebluing, and what happened he said not to go past 150 grit before applying. I thought the coating would etch and hold better than it did. The product does look amazing if you take your time.

Polished Black DuraBlue
The finish looked really good- not perfectly like the original bluing I removed, but close enough my customer was confident I bought a new barrel.

Trying to figure out what went wrong
Just received the Polished blue Black last week to apply to a Browning BBR after applying DuraFill to fill the pits. Prepped the parts then sprayed it on then left it in my spray booth for 24 hours. When I took it back to the bench to assemble, the DuraBlue fell off the metal. Yes, prepped via 400 grit paper then wiped down with TruStrip then sprayed with TruStrip after hanging in the spray booth. It looked great, Appearance was great. Other customers even thought it was blued. Yet the finish had no durability. Scrapped off most with a finger nail. Was much surprised by this as BA is self etching hence, should of bonded stronger than regular DuraBlue. Hence, completely stripped the DuraBlue with TruStrip and a stochbrite pad and re prepped with fresh 320 grit paper. This should help troubleshoot why it didn't stick. and I figure out what I did incorrectly.

Bad Ass
I recently purchased a kit of Bad Ass in flat black. After prepping the surface and spraying, I was impressed with the ease of the application and the quality of the surface when it dried. I highly recommend and would purchase again.
